Stanley 21-399 6-Inch Surform Pocket Plane

Cheap Stanley 21-399 6-Inch Surform Pocket Plane Review

I had a couple of these for quite a few years. I mainly use the contours of the putting on lids jewelry box. I begin in the middle of the lid, going with the grain, and dig deeper than I am on the edge, then "lip" up a little. The small plane that allows me to adjust the roundness of the cup that I'm going along, makes a more random looking contour. Try to do a regular handplane takes twice the work because you can not do these tricks down in the middle of the cup. Hope that made sense toreader. Guess Ya Gotta be there. In any case, it is a great little tool for not much money. I had a little hand, and use all the time. This is more of a sculpting tool for me as an airplane. You can get very nice results with just a little practice. Highly recommend.
